How many calories in a coffee?

Coffee is a worldwide famous drink producing from coffee plant seeds. Coffee cherries are the main source for coffee and it’s possible to find them over 70 countries all over the world. Coffee is today using mostly for its stimulating effect by caffeine. Ethiopia is the first place coffee started to cultivate and then it spread to Ottoman Empire than Italy. Coffee’s usage on religious ceremonies made it popular. Today there are lots of different cultures in the Coffee seed cultivation. Also there are lots of controversies about coffee’s calorie amount because there are lots of people who are drinking coffee for over 10 cups in a day. How many calories in a coffee?

Today, a standard instant coffee with 8 Oz has 4 calories. But McDonald’s Cappuccino 16 Oz has 130 calories. Controversies start here because there are lots of additional products in restaurants for more taste or strong feel.

Big restaurant chains like McDonalds, Dunkin Donut and Starbucks are always trying to reduce calorie amounts in their coffees.

Today it’s possible to say McDonalds is leading the calorie reducing race. Their McDonald’s Latte has 180 and McDonald’s Mocha has 330 calories in 16 oz. There’s also McDonald’s Brewed Coffee with 0 calories.

Dunkin Donut is another racer in this race. Dunkin Donuts’ cups are smaller than McDonalds. Dunkin Donuts Latte has 120 calories in a 10 oz cup. Dunkin Donuts Cappuccino has 80 calories and Dunkin Donuts Brewed Coffee has 15.

Starbucks has some less calorie coffees but lots of coffees of them are high calories. Starbucks Caffe Vanilla Frappucino Blended Coffee has 430 calories in 16 0z cup and Starbucks Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha has 560.
