When we look at the history of the Istanbul because of the different reasons lots of the civilizations have lived in that city and in accordance with the researches that are done by the historians, up to now there are 5 different periods of Istanbul and there are 4 different civilizations that have lived in Istanbul. The names of the periods are the period before the history, Byzantium period, Constantinople’s period, Constantine’s period and the Istanbul period and the names of the civilizations are Rome, Byzantium, Ottoman Empire and TurkishRepublic.
